Latvian forward Sergey Piskunov is the Red Devils second import signing for 2018!

Sergey currently plays for the HS Riga in Latvian Top division. The 25-year-old Centre was highly recommended by ex-Devil import star Vitalijs Hvorostinins who gave him a positive overview of the Red Devils and town, so Piskunov knows exactly what to expect in NZ hockey. In the season 2016-17, they played on the same line in their country’s top league and the Sergey gained an impressive 31 (13+18) points in 30 games, overtaking the past Red Devils import by 7 points.

Red Devils head coach Anatoly Khorozov is equally thrilled to have Piskunov on the roster for the upcoming season: “Sergey will bring experience to our young team having played pro for a while in Europe. He comes highly recommended with an abundance of hockey pedigree. He will be a great addition to the team without any doubts.”
